No design system, legacy flows, and an app that wasn't fully responsive.
This application faced several challenges that made it difficult to ensure a smooth and efficient user experience. One of the most significant challenges was the lack of a design system, making it hard to maintain consistency throughout the application and ensure that new features and components seamlessly integrated into the existing design. Additionally, the application's legacy components and user flows were challenging to work with as they didn't always align with current best practices or user expectations.
The app was not fully responsive, which made it difficult to ensure users had a seamless experience across different devices and screen sizes. All these challenges had to be carefully navigated to create an application that was both functional and enjoyable to use.
Creating the Design System.
Design Systems have become increasingly important in the world of User Interface (UI) design as they provide a comprehensive set of guidelines and standards for creating consistent, cohesive, and accessible interfaces. As a UI designer, creating a Design System is a complex and multifaceted process that requires a deep understanding of user needs, brand guidelines, and technical aspects of design implementation.
Atomic design is a popular methodology for building design systems that breaks interfaces down into reusable atomic components. Here are the steps involved in building a design system using atomic design:
